Project Background
Current Condition of the Bridge Structures
The existing bridges were constructed in 1965 through 1966, and rehabilitated in the 1980’s. Recent condition surveys indicate a number of deficiencies with the existing bridge structures that require repairs to extend their (long-term) service life. Examples of the structural deficiencies are shown in the photographs below.
Vehicular Traffic over the Bridge Structures
A preliminary analysis of traffic over these bridges has determined the following:
Mohawk Road Underpass Traffic
Approximately 1,750 vehicles per hour over the bridge during the AM peak hour, and approximately 1,600 vehicles per hour during the PM peak hour.
Golf Links Road Underpass Traffic
Approximately 800 vehicles per hour over the bridge during the AM peak hour, and approximately 1,200 vehicles per hour during the PM peak hour.
Southcote Road Underpass Traffic
Approximately 700 vehicles per hour over the bridge during the AM peak hour, and approximately 900 vehicles per hour during the PM peak hour.
Fiddlers Green Road Underpass Traffic
Approximately 1,200 vehicles per hour over the bridge during the AM peak hour, and approximately 1,000 vehicles per hour during the PM peak hour.
Hamilton Drive Underpass Traffic
Approximately 200 vehicles per hour over the bridge during the AM peak hour, and approximately 150 vehicles per hour during the PM peak hour.
Wilson Street Underpass Traffic
Approximately 1,350 vehicles per hour over the bridge during the AM peak hour, and approximately 1,250 vehicles per hour during the PM peak hour.
